Animation Cels
|
Among our vast collection of original
animation cels you will find original work from the artists who brought you works like Cinderella and other Disney princesses. Of course, we're so passionate about animation, we can also help you adopt the hundreds of other characters like Bugs Bunny or Fred Flintstone -- and so much more like animation production memorabilia.
We specialize in fine animation art and have experts on staff who can assist you in preserving your collection and answering any questions you may have about animation
cels. In the early 1900s
original animation cels were made from nitrate and evolved to the newer acetate
cels. The word is usually spelled, "cel," which is shorthand for the words cellulose or celluloid. The older animation cels were prone to discoloration, shrinkage and wrinkling whereas the newer acetate cels are much more stable.

When computer-generated imagery came to the screen in Disney's 1989, The Little Mermaid, the sea-change began which will eventually phase out the use of
hand-painted animation
cels.
